Conversion Pixels 101: Meta, TikTok, Google Ads on Your Bio Link

Installing a conversion pixel on your bio page is free, takes 10 minutes, and unlocks retargeting + lookalikes. Here's the full setup guide.

A conversion pixel on your bio page is the single highest-ROI setup in your entire creator stack. It's free, it takes 10 minutes, and it unlocks retargeting audiences, lookalikes, and real attribution. Here's exactly how to do it.

What is a pixel?

A pixel is a tiny piece of code from an ad platform (Meta, TikTok, Google) that fires when someone visits your page. The platform records that visit and ties it to a user ID, so later you can say "show an ad to everyone who visited my bio page in the last 30 days" — that's retargeting — or "show an ad to people similar to those visitors" — that's a lookalike.

Why creators should care even if they don't run ads

Even if you never plan to run ads, your pixel audience is an asset. The day you decide to promote something, you'll have a pre-warmed audience of people who already know you. Creators who install a pixel on day one are years ahead of creators who wait.

Meta Pixel setup

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite → Events Manager.
  2. Click "Connect Data Sources" → "Web" → "Meta Pixel".
  3. Name it something like "BioPage".
  4. Copy the numeric Pixel ID.
  5. Paste the Pixel ID into your bio page tool's analytics settings.

TikTok Pixel setup

  1. TikTok Ads Manager → Assets → Events.
  2. Create Web Event → Manual setup.
  3. Copy the Pixel ID.
  4. Paste into your bio page tool.

Google Ads tag setup

Google Ads uses a conversion action with a global site tag. Create the tag, grab the conversion ID, paste into your bio page settings. Same pattern.

Will a pixel slow down my bio page?

A properly-installed pixel is async and adds a few hundred milliseconds at most. Modern bio page tools load them after paint, so visitors won't notice.

Privacy notes

Add a privacy policy link to your bio page. In the EU, you'll want a consent banner (BioWise supports this). Pixels are ad tech — treat them accordingly.
